The Algae Society in collaboration with the Coaction Lab are pleased to present a new exhibition of interlinked virtual environments titled “The Realm of Oogonium” as a part of the What Makes Us Human exhibition at the Sesnon Gallery.

The Realm of Oogonium is a world that consists of three parts, inspired by algae. The genetic code of algae has mutated and evolved through time to a point where it becomes monumental in scale and humans have adapted to live within it. Visitors can explore this strange new world of interconnected, living systems and discover it’s strange beauty for themselves.

This VR realm can be accessed by the following three links, or within each linked portion you will see a portal to the next two parts of the realm.

The Realm of Oogonium was created by Algae society co-founder and member Gene A. Felice II with contributions from various members of the Algae Society and all sounds created by collaborating soundscape artist Kimathi Moore. It was developed for Mozilla Hubs, an online VR environment that can be accessed with a VR Headset or through a browser (Mozilla Firefox preferred).
